COVID-19 Requirements

First off, I want to thank everyone that has stuck with us through all this mess. This has been a life changing year. I want to say thank you so much for taking the time read this and respect my, and our studio’s requirements in order to provide you with the best services possible in delivering our art to you.

** UPDATED MAY, 2022 **

I have implemented quite a few changes to prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19. Please read over these changes to better understand and prepare for your visit. There will be no exceptions.

  1. Appointments only. Tuesday-Friday. This will not change post Covid. I budget my time and finances in order to spend the most time with my family as possible.

  2. There will be no walk in availability.

  3. GUESTS.

    1. I do prefer to be one on one with my clientele but I do understand that having “support” can make the tattoo experience more tolerable. I will allow one guest per client. Clients with vaccinations and boosters are appreciated.

  4. EVERYONE, including Lucky Rabbit personnel and all Clients will be required to wear a quality mask all times. I would prefer the highest quality you can produce that hugs the nose, cheeks, chin, and extends back towards the back of the jawline towards the ears. If you cannot wear a mask for a long amount of time, let me know. We can take breaks. I know it is nice to go outside and get some fresh air, or even smoke… you filthy animals; Hahaha. There is a video to determine the quality of your mask below. If you feel you’re “Medically Exempt” from wearing a mask, that is not a thing. If you’re someone who wants to feed into “tyranny” rhetoric, I’m not interested in working with you… ever. I have zero desire to engage in conspiracies. Gators are for the dunes, not medical usage. Let’s be real peeps.

  5. Hand washing is provided in the procedure rooms and the bathrooms. Points of hand sanitation are provided by the front door and bathroom.

  6. We are requiring that everyone maintain social distancing practices.

  7. We accept, Cash and Credit for payments and tipping is appreciated.

  8. If you have knowingly come into contact with someone who has experienced any COVID-19 or cold/flu-like symptoms within the past two weeks or are experiencing symptoms yourself, please reschedule. If you have something as simple as a little cough or sneezing, we will reschedule and you will not lose your deposit.

If you have questions or concerns regarding my policies, please reach out to me or our manager Chrissy at lucky.rabbit.appointments@gmail.com and we will respond when we are able.

I know some of these things are a pain in the ass, but I need everyone to please understand that I am being very strict about these for lots of reasons.

  1. I don’t want to get sick. No one wants to get sick (as far as I know… it’s been really weird out there). If I get sick I can’t provide for my family or the studio, and I also won’t be able to tattoo you. Covid causes variations of permanent damage, and I’m sure like anyone, I would like to leave the studio just as healthy as when I came in.

  2. I don’t want to bring it home and expose my wife Chrissy (the manager/piercer) because she is pregnant, to this virus. We also have a little boy, and I won’t bullshit anyone, it’s been hard getting here and not one client, not one tattoo, not one dollar is worth the lives of my wife and our child. And it absolutely blows my mind that people aren’t more careful than they are. After having this boy… I couldn’t imagine doing everything I could to keep him safe. I thought I was anal before.

There is a lot of information out there. Some good, some not so good, and some bad. There are also a lot of conspiracies out there and misinformation. I’ll tell you right now, if you’re someone who doesn’t respect the gravity of the situation we’re all going through, don’t bother contacting me. Again, I will not have someone threaten the lives of my family. If you would like to be a part of my little family, please respect my requirements. I am being more strict than the studio overall. Some people feel this virus isn’t a big deal, and at the time of this writing, there has been 76,537 deaths in America. To me, that’s 76,537 deaths too many. I care about all my people, and that includes my clients. Anyone who gets tattooed by me, I treat as my friend, and my friends are more family than my blood. This all may seem emotional and extreme, but I give a shit, and I want everyone to be safe. Those who don’t care about others, I’m requesting that you find an artist that feels the same.

** EDIT **
7/12/20: I initially wrote this blog May 8th, and the death rate has almost doubled in two months to 137K nationwide.
10/20/20: Updating since we had our baby on Oct. 5th, and the death rate is at 219,541 nationwide.
1/25/21: Here we are… updating post Insurrection/Inauguration. We are now up to 431,392 deaths nationwide. I just can’t.
3/4/22: Holy Crap… It’s been a year since I updated this. Delta, Omicron, Stealth BA.2, and who knows what’s next. We’ve had 995,000 deaths, people believe the election was stole, 1/6 wasn’t an insurrection and Republicans support the fascist named Putin as he’s waging war with Ukraine. This place is weird.
5/12/22: Mainly just updating because things are beginning to shift to a “normal” status and I’m honestly not too excited about it. My wife is pregnant so I wanted to give new clients a heads up about masks. A couple days ago a friend of mine got Covid and feels dreadful and I’m just not about it. There’s already studies showing major effects of Covid and I’m 100% trying to not get it and spread it to my family. 998k deaths at this point. Yep-ee I guess.

** IMPORTANT: My Position On Masks **
The Association for Professional Piercers (APP) require their members to wear masks during the entire procedure. When we breathe (oral and nasal) and talk we emit material. This is why we can see our breath in the winter. That’s literal moisture and germs leaving the body. Our piercers follow APP guidelines. Ever since 2005, I have worn a mask when feeling under the weather even in the slightest; even allergies. In February of 2020, I started considering wearing a mask during the entire procedure process as I… wait for it… Breathe… and anyone who knows me, knows I talk way too much. I’m passionate about shit. Sorry about it (but not really). I was researching renewable materials that would block these emitted material from my mouth and nose to wear full time. When people started to protest wearing a mask, I was absolutely flabbergasted. I couldn’t believe the absolute nonsense these people were spewing. I have zero interest in being around people like that.

  • I was going to wear a mask before Covid became widespread, and I will wear a mask every day after Covid is gone during tattooing procedures. Breathing/Speaking/Spitting material on a person and their tattoo is gross.

  • Post Covid: I will require that if you have a cold or flu, that you reschedule your appointment.

  • Post Covid: If you feel at all under the weather (including allergies), you will be required to wear a mask. Let’s be real… Breathing/Speaking/Spitting material on a person is gross.

Below are some reference materials concerning masks:

Coughing and sneezing inside a mask can still create an area of contamination than lingers in the air 3-5 minutes, sometimes longer without proper ventilation (like our rooms at the studio). With clients being right on top of me for extended periods of time increases chance of infection exponentially.

A really nice breakdown showing the different types of masks, how to wear them, clean them, and everything else.

A simple test to know how well your mask protects your exhalation from others.
